Speaking in Parables!
Today I was reminded of two great things that my late sister always told me.
A little gal sung and reminded me that when I have trouble sleeping at night I should not count sheep but instead my blessings. Recently I have realized I forget to count the many blessings around me and instead focus my energy on the things I need to do, or I don't have. It's Amazing when I look around me and start to count those blessing, they just keep going and going and why do I ever let myself forget?

My second lesson, listening. The bible readings for the day were based on promises, oops I take that back, on parables. Jesus told the parable of the sower. interesting was how the sermon further challenged me.
Once again I heard "the call". the urge to step out of my comfort zone fully. Well you see the whole issue here is about control. If asked the greatest thing I have learnt in school I will readily say the SWOT Analysis. I manage my life more like a strategist. l follow the logical pattern which helps me analyse my strengths, opportunities, threats and oh yes my weaknesses. the rule of thumb, capitalize on your strengths and opportunities, minimize weaknesses and threats. A friend asked me the other day, what my weaknesses were. I quickly responded, "emotion", phew, that is a hard one. Now that I think about it today and in this context, I wonder how many times our pride and logic will not "allow" us to disclose them.

Being a right brained individual, I will pursue what makes logical sense and here today, once again I was being challenged to look beyond this. I want to now, how do you TRULLY let go, how do you trully surrender? I see many great things in the future but what about NOW? am I a dreamer or just an Optimist?

As I anxiously wait for the G8 report, I am hopeful that the voices of many will be heard.
Below is a comment I posted at the "ONE blog".

My greatest desire is to help my people! The people of Africa who for so long have been victims of hunger, poverty and now AIDS.
While many of governments have received monetary aid from developed countries, corruption and civil strive have in the past impacted negatively on development and promoted illiteracy.
Today, the young generation in Africa aspires to join the rest of the world. The young men and women are striving to build better and brighter future.
Please give us a chance, Free us of our predaceours debt, help us develop better health care facilities and schools and united as ONE we will build a better tomorrow.

Yesterday I met a man who challenged me.

I was in a hurry to get a nice quiet study room in the library. As I got off the elevator and turned to my favorite study room hoping that it would be vacant, i met the libary janator.
I said a quick "hola" and his responce struck me. It was nothing verbal! In his eyes and voice were questions. Following our brief conversation in "espanol" he quickly told me that he had worked for the university for five years and held another custodial job. He works a minimal of 16hrs a day.

How many of us can do that for 5 years without whinning, I sometimes have trouble with just 8.
But then I wondered,
Why is it that some work so hard and still remain "poor"?

Do you think drive and ambition are the only answers to success?

We must learn to go beyond our thoughts and beliefs.

It is important to take a step in faith.

Ever notice the poor have more faith than the rich and
a child trusts unquestionably in things promised?

But again,
what is faith?

What is the difference between faith and hope?

Thought for the day:
A clever student quickly discovers that the words and theories used in a particular subject can be easily and readily substituted to any subject question!
True how early we learn this!
Recently one of my preschool/ Sunday school kids gave an answer to a question I asked, when asked for an explanation, He quickly said, I have realized that, "Jesus" is usually the right answer to most questions asked in Sunday school.
what's wrong with this picture?

Who is family?
Do they have to share our race, religion, culture or beliefs?
